Christopher J. Eberle is a senior professor of Philosophy in the United States Naval Academy's Leadership Education and Development Division, where he has taught since 2001. He specializes in the area of religion and politics. His publications in that area include Religious Conviction in Liberal Politics (2002), “Let A Thousand Flowers Bloom: Religious Reasons in Public Life,” (Journal of Legal Commentary, 2007); and “Consensus, Convergence, and Religiously Justified Coercion” (Public Affairs Quarterly, 2012). He also specializes in the ethics of war. His publications in that area include “Religious Conviction in the Profession of Arms” (The Journal of Military Ethics, 2012); “Just Cause and Cyber War” (The Journal of Military Ethics, 2013); and “God and War: Some Exploratory Questions" (Journal of Law and Religion, 2013). He is currently at work on two manuscripts: Justice and Just War and God and War: An Exploration.
