The Musée Carnavalet is located in the Marais quarter, 3ᵉ arrondissement in Paris and is dedicated to the history of the city.
The museum opened to the public on February 25, 1880 and currently occupies two neighbouring mansions: the Hôtel Carnavalet and the former Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint Fargeau.
