I grew up in the town of London, Ontario and from a young age loved books and movies. I spent countless hours reading, and worked my way through college at a movie theater. I believe I may have seen nearly every major motion picture made between 1986 and 1991.

Given my love of all things imaginary, I (naturally!) studied business and accounting, working as an executive for nearly three decades, while exercising my bursts of creativity through the vicarious enjoyment of others’ work.

As for many, Covid brought a major life transformation for me, as I retired from my “day job”, freeing me to explore my creative side. I enjoy spending time at the family cottage, together with my wife, three daughters and son-in-law. I also find the solitude perfect for writing.

My debut novel, Fire Horse, is scheduled for release this June, and in addition to three short stories, I am working on my second novel, Baltic Avenue.

In addition to writing, I enjoy cycling, cooking, reading, boating and playing the piano, although spending time with friends and family is what I enjoy the most.

My favorite fiction authors are:

Stephen King, Dennis Lehane, Scott Turow and Ian McEwan.

Although these authors may not seem to have much in common at first glance, they all emphasize character development in their writing, creating an emotional connection to the reader. This is what I find compelling and it is what I work to bring to my own storytelling.

I look forward to practicing the craft, meeting other budding writers and dedicated readers, and learning as much as I can, all while enjoying the ride.
