Jean-Baptiste Coursaud is a French translator and promoter of international literature to French publishers. His specialties are children's books and Scandinavian literature. He has translated a large number of Norwegian books into French and is referred to as the French publisher's main source of information about Norwegian literature. Among Norwegian authors he has translated into French is Johan Harstad, Lars Saabye Christensen and Erlend Loe.
Coursaud in 2008 was appointed Knight of the 1st Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for his work as a translator of Norwegian literature into French. He also received the NBU award that year, along with German Gabriele Haefs.
