Elissa D. Grodin is a physics buff who writes mysteries featuring Edwina Goodman, an assistant professor and theoretical physicist at an Ivy League college in New England. Edwina, who often kayaks on the river in order to do some of her best thinking, is self-effacing, indefatigably curious, and brilliant. Her boyfriend, Will Tenney, is a police detective in their little college town of New Guilford. With her uncanny ability to analyze cause and effect, Edwina occasionally proves herself to be of invaluable assistance to police investigations.
