Clive Byers is a British bird-watcher, professional bird artist, and an early "twitcher." His passion for birdwatching began in childhood, leading him to travel extensively in search of rare species. He has visited every continent, often as a lead ornithologist for specialist birding tours. His artwork has been featured in major bird identification guides, including Birds of the Western Palearctic and Buntings and Sparrows from the Helm Identification Guides series. He has also contributed illustrations to books such as A Field Guide to the Birds of South-East Asia and Birds of the Indian Subcontinent. In addition to his illustrations, he has authored a series of photographic guides on the birds of Peru, Ecuador & the Galápagos, and Southern Brazil. Byers currently resides in Norfolk, where he continues his work as an artist and ornithologist.
