Paul Gleason received his Ph.D. in English from the University of Texas, where he worked as managing editor of the D.H. Lawrence Review. He has published essays on major modernist and postmodernist writers, including Beckett, DeLillo, Eliot, Joyce, Lawrence, McElroy, Nabokov, and Vollmann. Understanding T.C. Boyle is his first book. He's also worked as a music journalist and has published many articles on and reviews of rock music and conducted interviews with musicians and filmmakers, for various internet and print publications.
