Lucie Ortega is a Czech fantasy author for young adult and adult readers. Her stories mix adventure, emotional depth, and rich worldbuilding, while exploring darker and more serious themes. She often draws inspiration from mythology.

In 2019, she won the Hvězda inkoustu literary contest with Světla nad močálem, a Slavic fantasy infused with heavy contemporary elements. Its success sparked a full series, now reaching readers in Poland. She also wrote the standalone Soumrak Edenu, blending myth, philosophy, and dystopian fantasy, as well as several short stories featured in magazines and anthologies.

When she’s not writing, Lucie tends her garden, sketches photorealistic portraits, and studies mythologies, cultures, and human nature. She loves green tea, long walks, and, of course, a good book. She lives with her family in a small village, but when she turns 100, she plans to move to a forest hut with thirteen black cats and a wolf. Until then, she keeps weaving new stories.
