Brian Gehrlein lives in Liberty, Missouri with his family where he also teaches high school English. His first book, THE BOOK OF RULES (FSG), is about following the rules (lest you be eaten!) and comes out fall 2021. He is an active member of SCBWI, participates in various kid lit critique groups, and is the creator and manager of Picture Book Spotlight, a picture book literary blog featuring interviews with authors, agents, and other industry professionals.

Brian attended William Jewell College where he graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education. He recently finished his Master's of Science in Education with an emphasis in Reading from Arkansas State University.

When Brian isn’t writing or drinking coffee or playing with his son, he can be found tinkering on his time machine--he tells me future you just loves his new books!
