Nan Adel was born in New Jersey but grew up in the West Park area of Cleveland, Ohio. Her sons were also raised in a west-side suburb of Cleveland. So, why not base her book in that area? Write what you know. She writes about time travel. Make your own conclusion.
She now lives with her husband in a small town northwest of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Good or bad, she wrote long, eventful, and silly letters to her brothers while they served in the Air Force. Yes, back in the 1970s, people still took pen in hand and wrote letters on paper, and mailed them. Letters to family and friends in other states were more like short stories than quick letters.
Nan daydreams about events that fit into her stories, then adds them to the current novel she's writing.
She has one regret -- she can't read her own novel for the first time. She can't be surprised by what happens, like first-time readers of it. It's the price an author has to pay for writing the story.
