Fredric Sweney was an award-winning artist from the USA.
Having studied at Cleveland Institute of Art in 1933, he took up a post of Artist at Cleveland Press, where he remained until 1941. Between 1941 and 1947 he was a Supervisor technical public for the Leece-Neville Company in Cleveland. In 1949 he was appointed as a wildlife calendar artist by Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, a post he held until his retirement in 1979. Sweney was also an instructor in graphics at the Ringling School of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida, USA from 1950 until 1976.
He was the recipient of a number of awards, including:
