Jill Staunton is an Outback fiction writer. She's a Queenslander who grew up on a cattle station so writing about the Outback, and the people who live and work in it, is something she very much enjoys.

She has always loved writing, and reading, and has written short stories (three of which won the Winton Outback Writers' Festival Short Story Competition in 2019, 2020 and 2022); has dabbled with poetry and has enjoyed crafting novels about Outback fiction and Australian Historical fiction. She has written a novella and a Regency Romance for the enjoyment of working with different genres and three of those manuscripts are works in progress.

Her first novel to be published by Boolarong Press was, Reiver's Moon, in March 2018. That was followed by, All That He Is, in December 2021, also published by Boolarong Press.

Jill values being an Australian author writing with a voice that represents the Australian Outback and the people who have shaped it and those who continue to do so now. She considers them to be enormously resilient people, as the photo of the acacia indicates - sometimes broken, bent, but still growing and in full bloom. Bowed but not beaten.
