Krystal A. Sital is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Secrets We Kept: Three Women of Trinidad. A PEN Award finalist and Hertog fellow, her work has appeared in ELLE, The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Well Section, Salon, Catapult, Today’s Parent, LitHub, the Caribbean Writer, and elsewhere.
Krystal A. Sital was born and raised in the republic of Trinidad and Tobago. She is a graduate of New Jersey City University and holds an MFA from Hunter College. She’s taught creative writing, gender and sexuality, and peoples and cultures of the Caribbean at Fairleigh Dickinson University and New Jersey City University. She now teaches in the low residency MFA program at Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe.
A mother to three tiny humans, she nerds out with her family in the suburbs of New Jersey. Collectively, they often dream of living on the beach.
