Alvarez studied German, History and Scandinavian Studies in Freiburg. She publishes novels. In addition, she works as a lecturer and consultant in leadership development and gives seminars for personality development.
As assistant director and dramaturge Alvarez initially worked at the Hamburger Theater. Later in Cologne she founded together with her husband, the storytellers project 'In Bocca Al Lupo "(now Galant Theatre), where they also staged themselves and whre she worked as a director for seven years
Alvarez is the proprietor of an Institute for Management Development, and lives in the Rhineland.
