"Sandy" Adrian Neil Havens became a legend at Rice University when he returned to his alma mater in 1964 to become the first professional director of the extra-curricular drama troupe in which he himself had starred as an undergraduate. By dint of his widely acclaimed work (the Players' openings were covered by both Houston daily newspapers), easy rapport with students, and credits with Houston's professional theatres, he was granted tenure and served until 2000. His stories in this volume include those of his wife, Rev. Helen Havens, first woman to be ordained a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.
