Barbie and her friend Nell share a flat in London, where Barbie works for a firm of Interior Decorators and Nell is secretary to a doctor. Barbie takes ill and goes to recuperate at her aunt's house in the country. When she has her fortune read from a tea-cup, she is told to beware of a tall stranger who will cross her path.
