A victim of sexual abuse, Steinfeld starts with her Danbury psychiatrist, describing all her thoughts, feelings, and fantasies, and how that therapy eventually threw her into a psychotic state. Prior to this therapy, Steinfeld had never been on medication. Afterward, she became disorganized, subsequently treated with a variety of medications that only compounded her problems and had a devastating effect on her psyche and self-esteem. She finally escaped from this therapy and worked with a variety of therapists. Steinfeld eventually overcame her pain and suffering to emerge strong and became a therapist counseling abused women.
