Factions of imperfect gods collide as a treasured artifact is suddenly revealed as the answer to each of their chosen champions.
Clannish Dwarrow who find homage in the stone and earth that their god Jikseon made them. Stubborn as stone but reliable as earth, they begin the race. Reclusive Sylvan heady with magic from the mysterious enchanted Daoine Maithe forest who have aspects of the tree that spawned them. Dangerous and secretly prejudice to all others. Morningsong, their goddess leaves her own superior hubris in their blood. Bruss, the god of waters and creator of the Mannish race who seek to keep company with other races, yet unwelcome at the doorsteps of them, at best.
Then there is Christiemay, goddess of the air and all things great and small and in between who take and provide as is the task she assigned them upon creation. And her messengers, the Silroh, mysterious, brimming with theurgy.
But Noshid, a god who feels betrayed by his brothers and sisters, makes the Gnomôk. Filled with his fury and his fire and no purpose other than the misery and destruction of all the other gods have wrought. He is outcast. But he knows of the Artifact. He covets how it may serve him.
Which god's children will find their way first and claim the Destiny Stone for their race? Will good win the race and thus the world be saved? Is good really good or just greed or self-preservation? Which good? Or will evil triumph and the fate of the world be death or worse?
