This smart little book resembled the Yachtsman's Diary but was all about sex, taking the subject very seriously (as it deserves). Sex clubs, erotic hotels and activities etc around the world were listed and reviewed. There was a Position of the Day, Quote of the Week and flicker story. After AIDS hit, it became the Safer Sex Maniacs Diary, reviewing condoms and providing the first drawings of how to put one on safely. The National Aids Manual and the Diary were Britain's only authorities on safer sex and the authors agreeing that life's not living without blow jobs and they are probably safe providing no bleeding gums, so we declared them so!
The Diary sold mostly as a jokey Christmas present for people's uncles, etc, but politicians abroad were seen to refer to them from their breast pocket. One man said he and his sister learned all about sex from the diary secreted in their dad's glove department. People sent in information ready for the next one.
As the Internet grew and people could find sex clubs etc listed online, and niche pocket diaries went out of vogue, sales fell, and publication sadly ceased.
