A summer’s day in the fishing village of Newlyn. Rose, a forty-something widow, photographer and artist, is on her way to Gabrielle Milton’s party.

Gabrielle moved from London to Cornwall four months ago and is hosting a fancy affair to meet the locals and introduce them to her London friends. Rose has been taking photographs of the Miltons’ new home.

But Gabrielle will never see the final pictures . . .

Rose finds her crumpled, lifeless body in the garden below a balcony.

A fatal accident? Or cold, calculated murder.

As the one to find Gabrielle’s body, Rose takes charge. But she soon finds herself tangled up in something more sinister. Fortunately, handsome Detective Jack Pearce is on hand to help, as well as Rose’s friend and gallerist Barry Rowe. Can this unlikely trio solve this baffling mystery?
