When young Robin Hood is tricked into killing one of the King's deer, he is outlawed and sentenced to die by the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham. Robin escapes into the depths of Sherwood Forest and gathers toegther a band of fellow outlaws. There they begin a fight for justice, stealing from the rich to help the poor.

Leaping from the pages come such legendary heroes as Little John, Will scarlet, Allan a Dale and Friar Tuck - and their sworn enemies, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Sir Guy of Gisborne and Prince John.
