Carolyn Rose spent her career teaching struggling young readers. She loved to see their faces light up when they gained the skills they needed to truly enjoy a good book. Inspiration for As Big As The Sky came from a trip to a rural village in Malawi, Africa. Carolyn grew to love Prisca and her family and realized the sacrifices families had to go through for a good education. Carolyn now lives in Colorado. She volunteers with the refugee population where she meets fantastic people from all over the world. She and her husband, Bob, also enjoy the great outdoors and visiting their children and grandchildren who live just a drive away.
