I am the child of former student radicals who became grad students in the 70's, and then professionals in the decades that followed. I started as a poet and am featured in the Anti-Mensch and Chicago Cherry anthologies, as well as the chapbook, I'm Not Tonight. I was attached by a childhood friend to a gift book being developed for Border's Inc, who wanted edgier material in that format. This was An Encyclopedia of Assholes. It sold 35,000 copies without a single professional review, or any promotion beyond being a book in the Bargain Rack. My publisher was then liquidated by their parent company, and Border's went bankrupt. I had returned to school to finish an overdue bachelor's degree rather than deal with the current, dismal state in publishing, but am now done with classes, holding lots of debt, with no idea what comes next.
